Strážov the town, where the site belongs to,
is mentioned in 1350 for the first time in history.
It originated as a defense place for caravans
off merchants who, in the first instance traveled with salt,
but also with leather and silver, from Salzburg,
through Železná Ruda, to Klatovy and were often attacked by
robber gangs. |

The only thing that still remembers this time is a copy of the
escutcheon,
that is situated above the entrance off the town hall.
Today the village is home to a supermarket, where you can go for the daily
shopping.
In addition, a post office, bank, doctor and dentist.
